Richard Burnett Collard Jr. "Rick" “Rip”, passed from this life and into the healing arms of his Heavenly Father on April 14, 2025.

Cremation rites have been accorded by Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Richard was born March 6, 1959, in Mt. Carmel, IL., the son of Richard Burnett Collard Sr. and Sylvia Irene (Joiner) Whitlock. He was never married. He grew up in Grayville, IL. and later moved to Lincoln where he graduated from LCHS and was a member of the wrestling team. He was a loyal friend, a musician, a truck driver, and a faithful follower of Christ. He enjoyed studying and reading the Bible, playing his guitar and singing and writing music. He was an avid JETS football fan and also enjoyed playing Madden Football.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Johnny R. Farmer.

Survivors include his sister Patricia (Wayne) Knoles, daughter April Ward, grandchildren Austyn Ward and Jaxon Ward, nephews and niece: Dale Heidbreder Jr. “DJ” (Christa), Johnny Farmer Jr. ( Stacey Lynn), Eric Farmer (Chas), and Amber Morris ( Jeremy), cousins, and friends.
