Obituary
Donna Jean Smith, 64, of Mt. Pulaski,
IL, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at her
home.
Donna was born March 7, 1960, in Carmi, IL, the
daughter of Delmer and Peggy (Fuhrer) Payne. She
married Robert Smith on April 27, 1985, in Mt.
Pulaski, IL. He survives.
Donna is also survived by daughter, Bobbi (Daniel)
Paige; stepchildren, Ronny and Robby Smith;
grandchildren, Lain, Wesley, Billie, Faith, Alyssa,
and Jessica; siblings, Paula Bree, Patty “Tootie”
(Mike Robinson) Riggs; nephews, Patrick (Aubrey
Letterle) Bree and Jeremy Riggs; great-nieces,
Nevaeh, Kinzley, and Braelyn Riggs and Kelsey Beggs;
great-nephew, Trenton Beggs; and great-great niece
Emery Riggs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, step-son,
Ricky; and niece, Tiffany.
Donna was a lifelong member of Mt.
Pulaski Christian Church. She loved making homemade
meals for her husband, family and friends. Her daily
phone calls with her daughter and grandchildren were
always the highlight of her day. |
Donna loved being a maw-maw to her
grandchildren, they were her pride and joy. They
spent most of their time outside playing and
enjoying their time together. She was “mama” to her
husband Robert since 1988 and loved him with all her
heart. In April, they were looking forward to their
40th anniversary. She loved her friends but the bond
with her sisters was unlike any other.
Donations can be made to the family in ℅ Bobbi Paige
to assist with expenses. A celebration of Donna’s
life will be held at a later date by the family.
Cremation rites have been entrusted to
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, IL.
