Obituary
Lincoln - Robert L. “Bob” Field, 94,
of Lincoln, IL, passed away on Monday, November 18,
2024, at his home.
Bob was born on June 13, 1930, in
Lincoln, the son of Grover and Eva (Lowman) Field.
He married Betty Bauer on September 11, 1949, in
Lincoln. She preceded him in death in May of 2008.
Bob is survived by three daughters,
Jean Ann (Roger) Morgenstern, Janice Lee (Bill)
Dickerson, and Susan Lynn Fuhrer; two grandchildren,
Keith (Meghan) Morgenstern and Lindsay (Joel)
Hammer; great-grandchildren, Sean, Kelly, and Colin
Morgenstern, and Theo and Corinne Hammer; three
step-grandchildren, Kelli (Kevin) Pologruto, Christy
(Todd) Johnson, and Phyllis (Tom) Heleniak; and
step-great-grandchildren, Rowan and Ethan Heleniak,
Avery and Ainsley Johnson, and several nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in death by his
parents; wife, Betty; and siblings, Joe and Tommy
Field, Dorothy Loeber, and Blanche Madigan; and
son-in-law, Steve Fuhrer. |
Bob was a lifetime member of Trinity Episcopal
Church in Lincoln, as well as a lifetime member of
The Lincoln Elks, United States Air Force Band, and
the American Legion Band in Lincoln, IL. Bob was the
former owner of the Illinois Tavern in Lincoln and
had worked at Cullinan & Sons, and later with the
Illinois Department of Transportation. He was an
avid bridge player, enjoyed fishing and going to the
Lake of Ozarks. Bob loved ballroom dancing with
Betty.
A memorial service for Bob will be
held at 11:00 am on December 6, 2024, at Trinity
Episcopal Church in Lincoln. Memorials may be made
in Bob’s name to Trinity Episcopal Church or Meals
on Wheels. Cremation rites have been accorded by
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
