Bridge repairs on Illinois 54 over
Lake Fork Creek in Logan County begin April 28
[April 25, 2025]
SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois
Department of Transportation announced that bridge deck patching and
repairs on Illinois 54 over Lake Fork Creek, 2 miles northeast of
the Sangamon and Logan County line, will begin Monday, April 28.
Lane closures will be necessary for the completion of this project.
Traffic signals and temporary concrete barriers will assist with
traffic control. Benefits from this project include safety
improvements and a smoother driving surface. The project is expected
to be completed in early July.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips
through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of
alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay
close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones,
obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and
be alert for workers and equipment.
